Dad was the hunting guide but Hampden(8 years old) had no help with her shot from Dad. She had practiced shooting and was ready. She shot her first deer last season, a doe, at 7 years old with a shotgun. Kenneth Cordray did a wonderful job tanning the hide which she has on the floor in her bedroom. This season she wanted to shoot a buck. Hampden passed on 11 does waiting for a buck. The shot was 90 yards. She was aiming for the shoulder and hit the buck in the base of the neck. Buck dropped in his tracks(Dad likes that kind of trailing)Very proud of the her hard work and the patience she displayed to harvest this buck. We will preserve this memory with a shoulder mount of the buck by Kenneth Cordray(we have not told Mom about the deer head which will be going in Hampden's room). Comments by a proud Dad, Andy Thomas
