Nice mention on WEZL with TJ and the Morning Crew!

There was more talk on the radio this morning clearing up the confusion on how much meat processors get from these big alligators.  TJ mentioned that Cordray's got about 200 lbs. of packaged meat from the 627 lb. alligator that's been on the news. That's the one we got in Saturday night that was 13 ft. 1.75 inches. He had kind words to say about us and we appreciate it!

BACON'S BACK!

Just a quick note to tell you we've just added Applewood Smoked Bacon to the meat case! We've been out for a little while and I've had plenty of calls, so I wanted to let you know that it's finally ready for you! We've got plenty of eggs, too! My teenage chicks have finally settled into a routine and I'm getting about a dozen eggs per day. We also have plenty of Cordray Farms beef summer sausage, snack sticks, and jerky. We're open 9 am to 10 pm, Monday through Saturday. On the next two Sundays, we'll be open 9 am to noon, then again 6 pm to 10 pm as we check in alligators during the public alligator season. Stop by our on-farm store today!

How much meat do you get from an alligator?

There's been a lot of talk recently about how much meat comes from one of these big gators. Much of the chatter is because it was reported that another processor got 40 lbs. of meat from an animal weighing over 1000 lbs.  This picture will help give you perspective. An alligator's tail produces 4 sections of meat - large sections in the case of this 713 lb. gator! One of these sections weighs 39 lbs.!

Eric Scales big 12 footer!

This is the fattest one this year! He weighs 713 lbs. and has a 70 inch waist! His tail circumference is 47.5 inches. He was caught in Lake Marion during the night last night.

Over 150 lbs of meat off that big 13 foot gator that's been on the news!

We've started making cube steak and sausage on the 13 foot alligator that's been on the news. We have over 150 lbs.of meat! A local radio station is reporting it wrong! When it's all packaged in meal size servings, labeled, and frozen, we'll show you the photos. We take pride in getting all the available meat in your wildgame. We skin, process, and package deer, wild hogs, and alligators.  40 lbs. of meat from a 627 lb. animal?? You've got to be kidding!
