Bo Peterson's story in the Post and Courier tells of the woes of this year's missing deer!

Click here to read the story from the front page of Saturday's Charleston Post and Courier. As all of you know, this year's acorn crop has been a bumper one! As the weather cools, we're all expecting the season to improve. If not, here's hoping that you'll fill your freezers with Cordray Farms Beef!

Congratulations, Gamecocks!

As my daddy (Carolina, Class of 1960) always says, "Wait 'til next year!"

Cordray Farms Gift Certificate

Buy a Cordray Farms Beef Share Gift Certificate for a share of all natural local beef for everyone on your Christmas list and this year you'll be giving a practical, healthy gift everyone will love! All our beef is born and raised on our farm. We never add growth hormones or antibiotics. They are kept on pasture throughout their lives. We grind all our own feed we get from local farmers. Cattle are butchered at a federally inspected local plant and then return under our watchful care to dry age in our coolers for about 21 days. At the peak of tenderness and flavor, we cut them into serving size portions, vacuum seal, and freeze them for lasting freshness. Every bite is carefully handled under our careful supervision just for you!

A Cordray Farms Beef Share is 1/8th of a steer.
The shares may vary just a little, but we try to split the steer as close to evenly as possible. Each share is about 50 to 55 lbs and consists of:
TBone/Porterhouse steaks - 4
Ribeye steaks - 3
Rump roast or sirloin tip roast - 1
Boneless stew - 1 pack about 1 lb.
Stirfry - 1 pack
Round Steak - 3 packs
Cube steak - 1 to 2 packs
Shoulder roast or chuck roasts - 2 or 1 of each
Flat Iron or Mock tender steak - 1
Sirloin steak - 1
Ground beef - 18 to 22 lbs. in 1 1/3 lb packs
Everything comes vacuum sealed and frozen. It will fill a medium size cooler. Beef Shares are usually $4.95 per lb. and average $250 to $275 each. For this special Cordray Farms gift certificate, we'll be charging $250 for shares guaranteed to weigh at least 51 lbs. Call in to place your order and we'll mail the Cordray Farms Beef Share Gift Certificate when and where you prefer. All orders will be picked up at our farm. We'll contact your recipient and arrange to meet them on the farm for a convenient pickup time. Reserve yours today! Our quantities are limited, so order early to be sure to get your Share.

Bringing venison pieces? LAYER is the word!

While we're closed on Thanksgiving, we hope you'll skin and clean your deer and put them on ice to bring them to us on Friday. Be sure to layer ice, meat, ice, meat, ice, meat... Often folks put the meat in a cooler and then put a bag of ice on top. The heat from the center of that pile will spoil everything!
And as always, be sure to keep every piece as clean as possible. Putting in one dirty piece of meat can contaminate the entire cooler!

See you Friday after Thanksgiving!

We are closed all Thanksgiving Day! We reopen Friday morning at 9 and have regular hours the rest of the weekend. (9 am to 9 pm Mon. - Sat. and 6 pm to 9 pm on Sundays).
